It's a buyers market - plain & simple.
The inventory of available homes is much higher than
it has been in a very long time. Prices have come
down as a result of this, and as a result
of the increasing number of foreclosure & pre-foreclosure
homes hitting the market at bargain prices.(continued
below)
Many of the "motivated seller" offerings
on the market can be attributed to variable rate
financing that many people acquired over the last
couple of years. Initial payments were affordable,
but now the calendar brings the next plateau of
increased payments on these loans, which for some
have become unaffordable.
The large numbers of these motivated seller (and
bank-owned) properties have forced prices down for
the entire market. So, there are some very attractive
deals out there for
today's
home
buyer. The home you have wanted
is
now within reach. With a little negotiation, we can
make it comfortably yours.
If you have
owned your home for 10 years or so, this may be
the perfect buyers market for you. Yes, prices
have come down from recent highs, but your home
is likely still worth much more than you originally
paid. With your equity, considering the growing
number of "motivated sellers" out there today,
you might consider the current downturn as
an opportunity to upgrade.
Whatever your current situation, keep in mind that
a home purchase is a long
term investment. If you are looking to buy
a home, you should look for the home that you want
to live in, not necessarily the one that has experienced
the greatest price reduction. Getting the ultimate
bargain is little consolation if you end up living
in a home that you don't really like. You
should LOVE your home !
